What does the future workforce look like? For Accenture, it will be gender-balanced—with a new goal and a longstanding commitment to attracting, inspiring and advancing women.
Our workforce goal of 50 percent women and 50 percent men globally by 2025 is an important step on the path to gender equality overall. And it’s another milestone in our journey to being the most inclusive and diverse company in the world.
Last year at Accenture, more women than ever (30 percent) were promoted to the managing director level, and we surpassed our goal to reach 40 percent women new hires.
But we’re not just setting goals and milestones. To pave the way toward a ‘50/50’ gender-balance, we’re taking concrete actions to attract, inspire and advance more women. For example, we are sponsoring our most senior women to advance in P&L roles—eight percent of which have been promoted or expanded their responsibility. We are launching initiatives that empower women with in-demand skills, such as our Women in Technology program, which helps fast-track the careers of high-performing women. Also, we are collaborating across business and government to further gender equality in the workplace with commitments such as Paradigm for Parity.
Gender equality is key to success in an inclusive, innovative and competitive workplace. We believe the future workforce is an equal one and we are committed to #gettingtoequal—faster.
