Ribbon Cutting at Cyber Fusion Center

I am thrilled to announce a new era for our DC Cyber Lab, as we celebrate the opening of the Accenture Cyber Fusion Center in Washington DC. This state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to helping our clients use innovative and disruptive new approaches—building business resilience from the inside out.

This is the fourth facility in Accenture’s global footprint of Cyber Fusion Centers and the first in North America, joining existing facilities in Manila, Prague and Tel Aviv.

Accenture Labs and our applied cyber R&D approach is a key force underpinning the Washington DC location. We are joining groups from Accenture’s industry-leading iDefense cyber threat intelligence services, and our highly sophisticated FusionX incident response and adversary simulation capabilities. The new facility puts the client visit experience at the center of a virtuous circle of predicting cyberattacks, threat hunting, and testing cyber defenses. We use a sparring partner approach, replicating real-world cyberattacks—all set in an immersive workspace to encourage collaboration and breakthrough innovation.

Cutting-edge solutions now and next

Our Accenture Labs cyber R&D professionals are focused on applying advanced technology research to power solutions for today’s security challenges. We featured two Accenture Labs solution demos at the launch of the Cyber Fusion Center:

  • ASGARD—Advanced Security Graph Analytics for Real-Time Defense—When you’re seeing the threat, speed matters for this big data problem. ASGARD provides advanced analytics, visualization and hunt capabilities at enterprise scale, at real-time speed and at a fraction of the cost of traditional SIEMS.

  • PredICS—Predictive Analytics for Industrial Control Systems—Once your analytics detect an active threat, it’s a race against time to get ahead of the attacker. With PREDICS, network visibility and predictive analytics improve responses and thwart attackers faster.

We also discussed ideas from our Security Technology Vision 2018 on how quantum computing, hardware vulnerabilities and evolving regulations are fundamentally redefining the future approach to security. Understanding these trends now is paramount to securing the Intelligent Enterprise.

As the Managing Director for Security R&D, I am excited to build on our past success through the collaborative innovation opportunities ahead. The Cyber Fusion Center is a force multiplier, bringing us front line insights and fly-wheeling our research learnings and proven prototypes into our leading cyber defense services.

Celebrating the launch

As a Washington DC native, I am especially pleased that our latest Cyber Fusion Center will call the DC Metro area home. Accenture has invested in creating 1,000 new jobs in the DC Metro market by 2020, and further strengthening the cyber corridor of our region.

Looking ahead, the Washington DC Cyber Fusion Center will be a focal point to facilitate collaboration. It will serve as the permanent working space for members of Accenture Labs and Accenture’s Security practice, as well as a co-innovation space with clients, and our university and ecosystem alliance partners. We look forward to hosting you soon—and providing you with an immersive experience of cyber-resilience.

We cut the ribbon to open the DC Cyber Fusion Center on Wednesday, June 20. Virginia Governor Ralph Northam and Congressman Don Beyer joined us for the celebration, which included an analyst and media briefing as well as a facility tour.
