As businesses move to post-pandemic recovery, what will the future look like?

The future of business is green
Companies are moving to business models that work directly with consumers or other businesses, and customers are doing the same. Intermediary businesses need to prepare to reinvent themselves or face the risk of becoming irrelevant.
The businesses that will thrive are those whose goals and/or products are focused on sustainability. And businesses that will arise are those in emerging industries, especially in the “green” space, such as renewable energies and waste management—everything associated with green development of the world.
Advice for the next generation
Today’s children and future workforce need a combination of tech acumen and human ingenuity to be successful.
When asked by parents how they can best help their children build a sustainable and future-forward career, I reflect on my own experience. When I asked my father permission to leave the family business and try something new, he gave me the freedom of choice.
Offering children the freedom to pursue their dreams allows them to direct their passion and commitment into creating something new—it inspires their ingenuity.
It’s also imperative to help people build skills that can be adapted to what’s next. As the next chapter opens up for careers, this next generation will need technology acumen as a foundation to apply their ideas—and to do extraordinary things.
