How salsa dancing inspires my Accenture career

There are two things to know about me: I have a passion for people—and for salsa dancing.
My enthusiasm for both fuels my career with Accenture.

I am originally from Cuba and have been living in Romania for 10 years, seven of those years spent working on human resources projects within the Accenture Operations group.
I’m currently the Talent Supply Chain Team Lead, working with a dynamic team at the front end of Accenture’s business operations. We’re an important part of our employees’ career experience.
I provide high-level support to a specific group of employees, based on their skills, on an ongoing basis. We produce weekly supply and demand reports with a focus on issue resolution and effective decision-making.
I’m also a dedicated career counselor, guiding my counselees as they develop their careers. We meet regularly to review progress and agree on steps that can be taken to help achieve their goals. Support for our people is a core value at Accenture.
The most rewarding side of my role is being part of a diverse team, learning from each other and understanding our different cultures.
Dance is my inspiration
In Cuba, dance is more a lifestyle than simply a fun activity. I started dancing salsa when I was a child. I remember my parents playing music and dancing every time we had a family reunion.
I started teaching salsa while I was living in Cuba, and I opened my own dance school in Romania in 2009. Dancing helps me achieve a perfect balance between my work and personal life.
Once I’m done with my workday and get into “dancing hours,” I’m ready to give my best to something I love.
I’m able to completely disconnect from everything, and it gives me a burst of positive energy that allows me to face any situation at work with a clearer mind and a better attitude.
