Cathinka's philosophy: Why do it alone when you can bring the power, might and commitment of a global organization to help back your personal mission?

Adamant that gender inequalities are not just a woman’s issue, she believes in reframing this challenge as a leadership issue and has worked alongside male colleagues who are very much a part of the journey.

Her philosophy is, why do it alone when you can bring the power, might and commitment of a global organization to help back your personal mission?

Driving momentum from the top down

Cathinka is involved in a variety of mentoring, diversity and civic initiatives—helping to advance women in their careers, both internally at Accenture as well as in the community.

As Accenture Foundation President, she led the Board that set our Foundation strategy. Her work included nonprofit organization grant requests as part of our Skills to Succeed mission to equip people around the world with skills to get a job or build a business.

Cathinka strongly believes “front office” roles give women the opportunity to shine and take accountability for business outcomes.

She applies a metrics-driven approach to the ambitious diversity and inclusion goals she has set for the thousands of consulting professionals in the Financial Services practice. It’s evident there is a need for more women in these positions, and Cathinka is actively working to fill that gap.

Mentoring the way

Cathinka is an ardent sponsor of Accenture’s women’s mentoring program. Her participation is fueled by her desire to pay forward the guidance and relationships that have helped shape her career.

She believes a culture of equality for women is linked to more innovation and success for firms overall. In addition to her work with Accenture, she has worked across organizations such as the Robin Hood Foundation to improve the living standards of low-income New Yorkers and NPower NY as an advisor and board member, helping to create a women’s network to successfully recruit more female students.

Cathinka expanded the cross-industry talent pool of female candidates at Accenture and is helping to develop the next generation of women consultants and position them for leadership roles. She draws her inspiration from leaders both at Accenture and within the financial services industry at large, who push for diversity and drive business results.

Always spurring on female colleagues, she shares two pieces of advice: Be more vocal, and take risks to achieve success. She encourages a sense of pride over one’s accomplishments and aspirations, backed by high performance.

Innovate, pursue your passions and do work that’s making a difference, every day. Find your fit with Accenture.
