3D Printing: Shaking up the Supply Chain
By: Accenture Recruitment

Over on The Accenture Technology Labs Blog, Sunny Webb, one of our Technology & Innovation executives based in San Francisco, looks into the effects of 3D printing on the supply chain model. 3D printing is the latest technology to shake up the manufacturing industry, allowing for mass production of goods from digital models.

Contrasting new technologies with the older ‘mass manufacture’ model, Sunny argues that technologies such as 3D printing allow products to be manufactured with minimal interval between order and production.

The good news is that you can now have a product such as a T-shirt or make-up customized at the last moment.

The Technology Labs blog is our forum for discussing the innovative and disruptive technologies of tomorrow. Read the full article and contribute to the discussion here.

At Accenture, we have a clear vision for the business implications of this exciting new technology. Read our report
