Sander van 't Noordende shares why role models in the workplace make a difference
By: Accenture Recruitment

Group Chief Executive--Products at Accenture Consulting, Sander van 't Noordende was recently featured in the 2015 OUTstanding & Financial Times Top 100 Leading LGBT Executives List and shared his thoughts on “being out there” in the workplace.

“What makes a difference at Accenture are the efforts we make to keep improving the inclusion piece, not sitting on our laurels at any point” says Sander. “And our LGBT community is one beneficiary of this. [We] foster a workplace that allows all people to be their authentic self, we have LGBT groups in 25 countries and will continue to expand on this.”

“To make it really meaningful, we have to put ourselves personally ‘out there,’ too,” he adds. “My challenge to all of us who are recognized today and to other LGBT leaders - take that one risk per day. Stretching the boundaries matters, and it does not have to be grandiose. Small things matter: start your own LGBT group, organize an activity during Pride, or contribute to social media. It all adds up.”
