Accenture Chief Marketing Officer Roxanne Taylor recently spoke to Fortune magazine about the challenge of getting more women into leadership roles. “Thirty years ago, about 37% of computer science degrees in the U.S. went to women,” said Roxanne. “Today that number has dropped to 18%. In my view, failing to check this trend will keep us from increasing the number of female leaders.”
As Roxanne told Fortune, “We need to get young women excited about math, science and technology,” We’re doing just that by taking part in the Hour of Code, a week-long movement dedicated to introducing computer science to students around the globe. We also partner with nonprofit organization Girls Who Code to help inspire, educate and equip young women with computing and professional skills that enable them to pursue technology careers.
