This past year has been truly exciting for Accenture and our involvement with the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC). We have developed a strong partnership that reflects a joint commitment to increasing Hispanic leadership in Information Technology around the globe. Together we have achieved many things, from running Accenture’s Business Leadership Forum sessions at HITEC’s quarterly Leadership Summits, to having our people graduate from the HITEC Emerging Executive Program (congratulations Nicolas Tempestini and Gustavo Garcia!), to sponsoring the HITEC regional event in Chicago last July.

This year, I have been thrilled to lead Accenture’s Business Leadership Forum during the quarterly Summits. We have brought our thought leadership and the experience of our most senior executives to the panel sessions, where we discussed areas such as “Innovations in the IT Industry,” Accenture’s Tech Vision and “HR IT Trends.” We’ve also brought our perspective to many lively panel discussions on inclusion and diversity, and including Latina’s in IT.
Every year the highlight event for me is the HITEC 100 Gala and Awards ceremony. This event recognizes the HITEC 100 - a ranking of the most influential and notable Hispanic professionals in the IT industry. I am thrilled to be included on this prestigious list this year, alongside my Accenture colleagues, Romulo Juarez (Managing Director), Jesse Cortez (Talent Acquisition Lead), Ernest Cordova (Chief Security Officer) and Dave Morales (Managing Director). The touching acceptance speeches made me proud to be Hispanic! I look forward to seeing their continued presence and influence at Accenture and with our clients

The final accolade of the night went to Accenture as we were recognized as the HITEC 2014 Corporation of the Year. This is a tremendous honor for us, and reflects the outstanding year we have had with HITEC. It is wonderful to now be counted amongst the exceptional corporations who have been honored previously.
At Accenture, inclusion and diversity are fundamental to our culture and core values, and knowing that Accenture support the development of Hispanic leaders is just one more reason I’m so glad to work here. I am very proud of the role we have played in helping HITEC to deliver on its vision and mission, and I am already looking forward to what’s to come in 2015!
