About Cathinka

Cathinka Wahlstrom is Accenture’s client account lead, responsible for building and growing relationships with the worlds’ leading companies operating in the United States and Canada to drive client value and co-innovation. She is a member of Accenture’s Global Management Committee and the North America Leadership Team.

Cathinka most recently led Accenture’s financial services practice in North America, serving clients in capital markets, banking and insurance. She defined and advanced the group’s vision—to be the premier innovation and execution partner of financial services companies—and strategy, which focused on building long-term client relationships and creating sustainable sales and revenue growth.

With more than 25 years of experience consulting to universal banks, investment banks, payments and insurance companies and exchanges, Cathinka has built and led Accenture’s relationships with some of the world’s largest financial services companies. Her work has spanned mergers and acquisitions, organizational restructuring and business change, cost-reduction programs, and digital and technology initiatives throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

In prior roles, Cathinka led the North America Banking & Capital Markets client service group and the Finance & Performance management practice in the Northeast region. She also has served as Accenture’s location managing director for the New York Metro and chaired Accenture’s Diamond Client Forum focused on partnering with the firm’s largest clients globally. Cathinka has played a key role in Accenture’s strategic planning efforts and company-wide operating model changes.

Cathinka is involved in a variety of mentoring, diversity and civic initiatives—most recently earning the 2019 Women of Excellence Trailblazer Award by the National Association of Female Executives’ (NAFE). She sits on the board of the New York City Ballet, serves as the Vice Chair of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in New York and sponsors Accenture’s work for Robin Hood Foundation-supported organizations seeking executive coaching. She was formerly president of the Accenture Foundation, board member of NPower New York and member of the corporate board of the Global Fund for Women. She is an alumnus of the David Rockefeller Fellows Program and a co-founder of FinTech Innovation Labs New York.

Cathinka joined Accenture in 1994 and became a partner in 1999. She has an MBA from the University of California, Davis Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in economics and journalism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
