May is Mental Health Awareness month. At Accenture, we are committed to fostering open, honest conversations about mental health in the workplace and beyond.
At one point, Senior Manager Alex Lane took four months off work to focus on his mental health. Now, as a member of Accenture’s Mental Health Allies community, Alex encourages people to speak up about mental health in the workplace: “Talking about mental health is critical to recovery. Looking back, I can see that this experience has positively changed my work and my life. I wish I’d sought help earlier before things got out of control.”
Lisa Bertolini leads an Accenture team at the forefront of creating accessibility in the digital age—making websites friendly for people with disabilities. The team helps improve Accenture’s internal websites, so employees with disabilities can complete a time report or new employees can find career information.
“You have to be adaptable to change if you work with Accenture,” she says. “And that’s probably one of its greatest assets because as the world evolves, and Accenture grows with it, so does its attitude toward people with disabilities.”
