The objective was to create a key knowledge-sharing tool for its employees. Accenture worked with the company to provide digital communication essentials delivered through Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Azure, with an entire portal successfully developed from scratch in three months. The company saw increased knowledge sharing and enhanced communications, and created a foundation for operating as a digitally-enabled business.
Since the company was in the process of building a datacenter that would not be functional for several years, a cloud platform was selected to provide rapid deployment of services and easy access for employees, as well as reduce the need for substantial infrastructure.
Accenture worked with the company to provide essential digital communication tools—including Lync, OneDrive for Business, Yammer and SharePoint—all of which were delivered through Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Azure. Accenture also provided continued support to manage the new solution, as well as a change management program for training employees on the governance of the new services.
Since the launch, the chemical company has seen progress across the following three priority business cases defined by its leadership team:
Facilitate knowledge transfer from its parent companies to ensure effective operations
Implement proper knowledge management to promote a culture of information sharing
Institute knowledge retention to help employees access frequently-needed policies and other reference materials
