Digital Business Integration Manager
"Both in life and at work, there is no shortcut to success. Hard work and integrity will eventually pay off in the end."
In a nutshell, I help freight and logistics companies build digital systems and processes to boost operations, worker productivity and equipment utilization. These digital offerings use emerging technologies such as blockchain, automation and Internet of Things (IoT), empowering our clients to embrace digital disruption and stay ahead of the competition.
My specialization is on Industry X.0. It’s a new approach where we intelligently combine different digital technologies to create new revenue streams, drive growth and transform a company into a digital enterprise. I get to work with the latest technologies and see impactful innovations come to life, which inspires me to keep on doing what I’m doing.
As a digital business integration manager, I spend most of my mornings reviewing and re-planning the tasks my team and I will have to accomplish within the day and/or in the coming weeks. Checking in with my team, where I will have a series of meetings either face to face with the local team, or teleconference with team members located in other areas. That is when I get catch up with my team members’ well-being and get task status updates. Back-to-back meetings can be a challenge, but it’s all in a day’s work.
The rest of my day is spent together with my team working on a product roadmap, coordinating with local and overseas resources about product delivery, or talking to client account holders about business development and client engagement. Aside from managing product funding and allocation, I also oversee marketing campaigns, working with our Creative Team to develop marketing materials.
I regularly collaborate with resources from Singapore, India and the Philippines so I get to learn more about their unique cultures. My team’s diversity is a key to our success as we get to mix fresh ideas and see things with different perspectives.
Every day provides new opportunities to think outside the box and discover how we can make an impact in the freights and logistics industry. One offering that I’m excited about is the Connected Ports. It harnesses the power of IoT to provide port operators with an end-to-end view of everything that’s happening in the port. All the data gathered are integrated into a dashboard, allowing port personnel to swiftly respond to issues, identify productivity opportunities and improve equipment maintenance. To see the impact this offering is creating in the industry gives me a great sense of achievement and satisfaction. I am also proud to say that our clients responded very positively to Connected Ports and this offering was also showcased in the biggest annual industrial innovation fair in Germany.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my wife and kids and activities like for reading, cycling or even travelling.

Although the learning curve in Accenture can be steep and it is especially so for me during my initial year, but that is also when as an individual you will get to learn and experience the most out of it – both soft and technical skills.
Managing teams across countries while implementing digital solutions can get challenging at times, so it is important that we get out of our own comfort zone and adapt to things quickly as it moves along – establishing strong and trusty working relationship with your team across the borders – being aligned, taking no shortcuts and only doing what is right, even though it may require more effort. All these hard work and effort will eventually pay off one day.
