Role description

The successful candidate will play a Marketing Cloud Specialist role aligning innovative digital marketing strategies to technology solutions available across the Marketing Cloud solution sets. This role focuses on partnering with the vendors, clients and collaborating with Accenture internal team to drive innovative solutions forward while also to help improve overall business performance.
They will be passionate about their work, possess intellectual curiosity, self-motivated, detail oriented and have excellent problem solving abilities. They will have superb communication and project-management skills, and will be able to communicate and articulate solutions, both written and verbally, in a clear and easy-to-understand way. They will deal with highly ambiguous problems, taking full control and responsibility for finding solutions, and will drive towards simple solutions to complex problems.

Role Responsibilities

A professional at this position level within Accenture has the following responsibilities:

  • Work on a wide array of assignments including business development, project delivery, operations and IT strategies, as well as executive level product demonstrations on the Salesforce platform.

  • Discover, analyze and identify individual client objectives and challenges and map them back into the Salesforce Marketing Cloud solution portfolio.

  • Design innovative solutions to address client challenges and focus on building those solutions on the Salesforce platform. Present customized story-driven demonstrations/journeys that are aligned with key business value and solution differentiation.

  • Function effectively in a fast-paced high-energy market segment and successfully balance multiple projects in a team-selling environment.

  • Present Salesforce Marketing Cloud technology infrastructure, including demonstrating deep familiarity on the overall architecture (hardware, software, networking and security stack)

  • Actively enable the delivery and sales deal team to more effectively position the value of the Marketing solutions within the Salesforce portfolio.

  • Respond effectively to RFIs and RFPs.

  • Participate in training and certifications relevant to Marketing solutions to acquire and maintain the knowledge necessary to be effective in role.


  • 3+ years of experience as a marketing cloud administrator or developer

  • Strong background in agile SCRUM agile practices and associated tools (Jira, Confluence, Slack, etc.)

  • Fundamental understanding of database technologies (RDBMS, NoSQL)

  • Certified in Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer and/or Marketing Cloud Consultant is preferred, but not required

  • Experience with email and/or marketing automation software and integration with databases

  • Knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) aka ExactTarget is required

  • Experience working with all Marketing Cloud Builders and Studios, including Mobile Connect and Personalization Builder for Emails

  • Develop responsive email templates with extensive knowledge of AMPscript and Guide Template Language

  • Front-end development building Cloud Pages utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript and AMPScript

  • Experience implementing automated solutions utilizing Marketing Cloud Server-Side Java Script (SSJS)

  • Master with SQL and robust understanding of Marketing Cloud’s contact data model

  • Extensive experience utilizing Journey Builder with thorough understanding of Audience Builder configuration

  • Ability to elicit requirements and translate to technical solutions that can scale across multiple business units

  • Experience with web service integration (REST/SOAP)
