I have worked at Accenture since 2012 I have to say I like it here. Basically I work as a .NET developer and architect but what exactly I do always depends on the project I am currently assigned to. During my time here I was developing a web application for one of the biggest online marketing company in the United Kingdom, supporting migration of Google’s data to the client’s data warehouse and now on my current project I am focusing more on Microsoft Dynamics CRM technology. Together with a German team we are developing custom Microsoft Dynamics CRM solutions for a world-wide technology company using technology such as HTML5 and CSS3. I am working with great people here in Bratislava but I also communicate with great people from all over the world and that is the biggest Accenture’s benefit for me.
Usually I arrive at the office at 8:00 am but it always depends on the project you are working on. I start my day same as almost everybody in the office – checking emails and enjoying my morning cup of coffee. On Monday and Wednesday we have regular project online meetings together with our German team where we discuss the most important issues and task on the project. The rest of the week depends on the result of these calls. Usually I work on my development tasks, communicate with our business consultant and technical architect, do some bugfixing and after that I have to write technical documentation. Sometimes I also support junior team members and I try to use my coach skills. I usually leave work around 5:00 pm and that is the time when my „personal life“ starts.
When I am not at the office I try to relax and recently I prefer “active relax”. I try to do some kind of sport almost every day.
Two times per week I play football with my friends and lately I started to do Crossfit which I found very enjoyable. Crossfit gym is a place where you can push yourself beyond your limits when your body wants to give up. And it’s a place where you can meet a lot of funny people who share the same interest.
But I also still find time for my other hobby and its programming of-course. Accenture offers a lot of opportunities where you can broaden your knowledge in these areas. Sometimes I borrow a good IT book or visit IT meetup about new technologies.
I also like good movies, TV-series and good books. And, of-course, hanging out with friends.
Everybody should be happy. And if you want to be happy you should do something that you love, or something that is logically going to lead to something you love, in order to do your best work. That desire will make you more creative and more resourceful, and will help you get further faster. You should be really passionate about what you do.
If you like software developing, new IT technologies, travelling and communicating with people from all over the world, you should try Accenture and maybe this would be the place where you will find your dream job. In Accenture you can improve your English communication skills (other languages too if you are good), broaden you IT knowledge and soft skills. It’s a place with many great people and many great opportunities. This is what I found in Accenture. You should try it too.
