At breathtaking speed, digital trends are revolutionizing how governments, citizens and businesses interact with the world.
“Always on” communications, rapid adoption and the essential nature of digitization are factors that drive deep and pervasive change in how we interact in our daily lives.
Accenture undertook a groundbreaking study to understand digital government capabilities in different countries, and to discover how they can progress their agendas. The study combined research across 30 countries with our experiences working with global public service entities. We also took a deeper look at the practices of several countries worldwide to understand what differentiates leaders from the rest.
Our analysis has enabled us to quantify the level of country digitization against key indicators, such as gross domestic product growth, job creation, citizen well-being and government efficiency. What is more, the research offers a means to translate where countries are today into actionable plans for tomorrow.
Accenture’s 2013 research shows that gaining digital maturity can act as a catalyst for governments to not only take advantage of more advanced technologies such as Web 2.0, analytics or cloud computing, but also to realize a broad range of benefits across public service, the economy and society.
