I learned about Accenture’s Emerging Technologist Development Program (ETDP) through one of our lecturers at Nanyang Polytechnic. I was keen to participate because I knew it would give me a good training at a multinational corporation.
The recruitment process was easy and structured—I had a phone interview followed by a face-to-face interview, then I was in following my graduation in 2012. I graduated with a degree in Business Enterprise IT, and I’m glad to note that they assign you projects that best suit your skills and interest.
Accenture invests in the training and development of its people. Under the ETDP, I was sent to train in Pegasystems Case Management. I used my skills in mobile and Web portal application to help develop OneService@SG, an online platform where Singapore citizens can raise municipal cases. The project was a success.
While I learnt programming, project presentation and communication skills at the polytechnic, Accenture taught me how to develop good working relationships and leadership skills. I have also learned about work ethics. It truly is a good learning experience to start my career with Accenture.
At Accenture, I’m excited to work with the best people and take on different challenges as a team. Every day is different yet enjoyable.
