What I do

DevOps, or Development/Operations, provides organizations with a faster delivery pipeline and higher-quality software. As part of Accenture’s DevOps practice, I help our clients manage the automation of their processes, from the early stages of building, testing, and security analysis to deploying the software into the test and production environments.

 

While I have 25 years of IT experience, I am in my first year with Accenture. The first project I was part of provided process design to a client to increase their level of cloud maturity. It’s been a great experience not only with DevOps, but in working with the larger picture of all aspects of a cloud migration journey.

A day in my life

I travel to various client sites to work on projects, as well as help with business development efforts. I recently volunteered to help with the Accenture DevOps Community of Practice, which keeps teams connected on the latest DevOps concepts and tools.

 

I enjoy meeting and networking with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds and geographic locations. Accenture provides a multitude of learning opportunities In the first four months of my experience with Accenture, I studied and became certified with Google Cloud as a Professional Cloud Architect.

 

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family. My hobbies include watching science fiction and action/adventure movies and TV shows, playing Pokémon Go and volunteering with the Scouts BSA.

My advice

Be open to new opportunities, embrace change and learn to network with others. Opportunities that may not be specifically in your area of expertise can provide a great opportunity to learn and grow, as well as providing unexpected, exciting new career paths.
