As a consultant, my days vary depending on my projects. For instance, I spent this morning at a client office to share our daily project progress updates. I then arranged meetings to move urgent tasks forward and made time to catch up on the latest security news.
After lunch with my colleagues, I demonstrated the security architecture design and test scope we had planned to the client. Then, I prepared a deck proposing a solution for their cloud integration issues.
Following a Skype call with a service provider to discuss and confirm penetration testing requirement for the client, I took a call with Accenture Security in the US to compare notes and gather insights from a recently completed product integration.
One of the most exciting projects I’ve had was for a global oil and gas company. Our project team was made up of seven men and women from five different countries and every brainstorming session saw us challenging each other’s ideas in the best possible way.
Working closely with this client, our team conducted a three-day workshop in India to better understand their business needs in the context of the current security landscape. We then crafted a future-focused security operating model that supported the company’s business vision and digital transformation securely.
Not only did this generate positive feedback from the client; the team also ended up spinning off a couple more large-scale security projects that would further propel their company on their digital journey.
One thing I really like about Accenture is the people. Accenture people are not only smart and innovative, but they are also business-minded and team players. I’ve made a lot of good friends here who are both talented and generous with their knowledge. Whenever I have a question, I have a huge global community of experienced colleagues who are always willing to help me out. I know that the answer to my question is just one ‘ping’ away.
To decompress from my full work week, my friends and I spend weekends hiking in natural reserves, mountains or islands. Sometimes we will have picnics or fly kites. When I am alone, I love to stroll in the park or take a walk near Kallang River. Being close to nature makes me feel refreshed.
