About the role:

The position will be part of the Payments and Collections team leading the Payments Transformation project, and responsible for the management, planning, and development of payments solutions for our Transaction Banking business in Asia Pacific.

The incumbent will work closely with in-country Product colleagues, Technology, Operations, Business Segments and Sales to identify and develop payment product capabilities and drive strategic payment transformation initiatives

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify product development opportunities and requirements based on customer needs, competitive landscape, data analysis and market research. Develop strategic product roadmap for new products and enhancement of existing products.
  • Lead multi-functional teams in formulating, designing and implementing within the Payments Transformation program across 6 key markets (SG, MY, TH, ID, VN, CN and HK).
  • (Regulatory Support BU) Drive multi-functional teams in formulating, designing and implementing local regulatory requirements for domestic and cross-border payments and collections across 6 key markets (SG, MY, TH, ID, VN, CN and HK).
  • Provide group guidance and leadership in the deployment of various Payments Transformation initiatives and regulatory requirement changes in overseas subsidiaries and overseas branches.
  • Build business requirements (BRD) as the basis for Technical Development, Operational processing model and other cross functional departments to build systems, procedure and materials to support product development and ongoing product enhancements.
  • Responsible for the successful delivery of new product development within defined objectives through close collaboration with Technology/Operations in formulating end to end solutions to meet business requirements, including FSD and UAT Test case reviews.
  • Collaborate with technology and operations to review Functional Specifications (FSD) and ensure they are aligned to Business Requirements.
  • Responsible for reviewing of Test Scenarios & Scripts and work closely with Development and User Acceptance Test (UAT) teams to troubleshoot, analyze and resolve product development issues.
  • Work closely with key business partners to ensure end-to-end integrity of final delivered solutions, processes and documentation. These partners include Services Management, Project Management, Technology, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Client Fulfillment and Service.
  • Address day-to-day business process matters such as technical support, operational issues, client service support, legal documentation, etc.
  • Ensure clear understanding of our product capabilities across various customer touch-points – including Sales, Relationship Managers, Branches, Implementation & Customer Service, Call Centre, etc., through proactive communications program, internal training workshops, etc
  • Provide post-sales support in terms of product documentation, implementation of solutions and necessary training for stakeholders to ensure continued usage of our products and services.


Key Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of working experience in working with Payments/Transaction Banking products with a proven track record in implementing successful innovative solutions and digital strategies.
  • Strong understanding of the payment value chain from both a customer journey perspective and also a product development lens.
  • Good understanding of payments within the region, channel interaction, ISO scheme and messages, frontend and backend payments preferred.
  • Experience in cross border related Payment initiatives in the wholesale banking space across Asia Pacific is required.
  • Must possess very strong cross-platform digital and technical knowledge and up-to-date with the latest market development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with good spoken and written English. Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
  • Domain knowledge in Transaction Banking, Cash Management and Payments preferred.
  • Experience in working on local regulatory projects related to domestic and cross border payments in the region.
