Why did you choose to join Accenture?

When I graduated from Temasek Polytechnic, I started looking for job opportunities. However, I wasn’t exactly sure of where I wanted to go. I then heard about the SkillsFuture Earn and Learn Program, which sparked my interest. It offered the course Big Data and Analytics, which I have been really interested in since my college days.
Accenture was one of the companies that participated in this program. I chose to join because I’ve heard of how Accenture can offer me opportunities to learn and grow my career.

What was your impression of Accenture before joining? How did this change over time?

As one of the leading technology consulting firms, I initially felt that I was not competent enough for Accenture. However, after I joined, I was really glad that everyone was willing to help and guide me along, making me feel that I could perform better. I learned that nothing was impossible as long as I persevered and was willing to learn.

Describe an interesting project that you worked on which you are particularly proud of. What was your role in this?

My role in the project that I’m currently handling is to build and test the backend extract-transform-load (ETL) processes and data conversion. I also create test scripts and extract data. Furthermore, I deal with Qlik-related implementation and help facilitate user acceptance testing sessions as well as change management workshops when needed.

How does Accenture allow you to be yourself?

I’m glad that Accenture promotes inclusion and diversity. Everyone is different and unique in their own way. I believe great things can come about from distinct minds and perspectives.

Why did you choose to join Accenture?

I was inspired to join Accenture when I learned that it was a global company with a widely-recognized brand and reputation. Here, I have the chance to work with highly-skilled and experienced people as I grow to become a better developer.

What was your impression of Accenture before joining? How did this change over time?

My impression of Accenture was that they’ll do everything to ensure they deliver clients’ expectations and live up to their reputation. However, I learned that Accenture is a company that is not only dedicated to its clients, but also its people. Aside from delivering excellence, Accenture instills confidence in its employees. I have always felt valued and important to the company since my first day at work. It makes me feel that I’m in the right place to grow my career as an example of this is where I prepare to take up the My1stDegree scheme to help fund my further education.

Describe an interesting project that you worked on which you are particularly proud of. What was your role in this?

I am still working on my first project with Accenture—a web application project for an Asian economic powerhouse that is utilized nationwide. I’m very proud to be part of this program that I know will make a difference.

What are you most proud about working at Accenture or what Accenture represents?

I’m proud that Accenture embraces inclusion and diversity. I believe that no one should be discriminated against, as it will prevent us from working harmoniously. I also think that building a cohesive and strong relationship with others allows us to focus on more important issues and produce better results.

Why did you choose to join Accenture?

Simply put, it was a challenge. Why stop and be comfortable, when you can keep pushing through the limits? I believe that life is short—you must experience it yourself to know the truth, and only the toughest will triumph.

What was your impression of Accenture before joining? How did this change over time?

Before I joined the Emerging Technologist Development Program (ETDP), I was eager to find out what was it about Accenture that made many intimidated by the company. Over time, I realized that we work differently compared to other companies that I have been to. For instance, we are very serious about the quality of our work and our client’s feedback.

What are you most proud about working at Accenture or what Accenture represents?

My proudest moment was when I passed the one year mark. Working in Accenture helped me become a better team player. I gained countless valuable experiences and met many selfless people.

How does Accenture inspire you to innovate or make a difference?

The diversity of our team inspires me every day. With guidance from my supervisors and mentors, I am always learning, sharing my thoughts and receiving constructive feedback for my growth. Making mistakes and learning from them is not as scary as I used to think. To make a difference, I am also sharing my thoughts and feedback with my team and friends, so everyone can improve at work or life.

I’m proud to be one of the pioneers of ETDP. I believe we have set a great benchmark for the program.
