I lead the Industry X.0 practice in Accenture’s Growth Markets as a Strategy & Consulting Managing Director (MD). In this role, I support, and at times represent, account leads on client engagements by bringing in the right people to address clients’ business needs. I also lead, facilitate and drive Industry X.0 learning and sharing sessions to uplift the practice’s capabilities and build a culture of continuous learning.
I keep myself updated with market insights, client happenings, and practice wins and highlights. I also do a lot of self-learning so that I would always be relevant to clients and enrich others within the organization.
It’s awesome to work with teams of diverse experts and highly talented people, globally and regionally! Accenture provides a cultivating environment for excellence that challenges me to grow continuously. This positively affects my personal learning and career appetite.
As a new MD, I’m thrilled to pioneer and lead Industry X.0, a high-growth practice at Accenture. It is a privilege to be in a role that makes an impact on global economic prosperity. I’m excited to lay a good foundation for future generations with what I can contribute now, such as how I’m helping with sustainability efforts through energy transition for a greener world.
It will be such a blessing if I could still be relevant to my kids’ generation when their world would be completely automated with machines and robots. I hope we could still have a decent dialogue over dinner on how to fix certain things by then.
I enjoy breaking new ground and defining what’s unique about the companies I’ve worked for. I’ve done this a couple of times before I began working here.
In Accenture, I am most excited to establish a new perception of what we can do to help the client beyond information and communications technology (ICT) and strategy-type challenges, by building new Industry X.0 capabilities for the firm in the region. This allows me to discover Accenture globally, across geographies, on its capabilities, use cases and credentials—outside the local practice comfort zone. It also gives me the chance to bring the best of Accenture to form a unique A-team to envision the art of possibilities and work together with client and ecosystem partners.
One fact I’ve come to believe: You can always find an answer across our global network of 513,000 experts. If we take heart and patience in finding the right experts from the network, there will be fountains of hints to answers. It’s such a wealthy network with a wide breadth and depth of know-what and know-how.
As a newbie in Accenture, I’ve needed to excavate such treasures in areas involving challenges in the Southeast Asia region. The rewarding part of the experience included getting connected with the right experts and bringing them across the region. I’ve learned much about Accenture’s culture, network and ways of working on my journey to discovering the best. Surprisingly, it was highly collaborative!
On a personal level, I believe diversity is a must to continue dominating as a market leader. People always have different strengths and weaknesses. Together, we can complement each other by filling each other’s blind spots and arise stronger. We perform well in unity against our competitors in the market.
I’m glad to learn that the leaders across Accenture embrace that, too. Certainly, I’m very happy to know that Accenture aims to accelerate gender equality for a good balance on diversity.
I love outdoor sports—biking, diving, running, hiking, swimming—and music and family.
I have two kids: a 5-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl. My hubby is a good Japanese chef, but cooking Japanese cuisine is just his hobby. He leads digital banking professionally.
I usually start my day early with my run, bike or workout before getting my kids out to school, and I start work afterwards. I enjoy family meals together, so whenever possible, I’ll indulge in the kitchen and experiment with new Italian dishes while hubby goes for his Japanese cuisine. Singapore’s circuit breaker measures due to the pandemic have allowed us to have family dinners more often than before. Usually, I end my day with some wine and reading.
