UKI and Europe Strategic Programmes and Data Insights Senior Manager


The Strategic Programmes and Data Insights (SPDI) Senior Manager is responsible for leading one or more Market Unit teams within a Market Level team that delivers multiple UKI and Europe Geographic Services Strategic change programmes, underpinned by data insights, at any point in time. 


The SPDI Senior Manager reports to the UKI and Europe GS Strategic Programmes, Operations and Data Insights Lead.


UKI and Europe Strategic change programmes will either stem from specific sponsorship responsibilities assigned to the UKI and Europe GS Lead, from insights generated by value-add data analysis performed by the SPDI team or from business improvements, policy compliance or broader business risks. The SPDI Senior Manager should demonstrate strategic thinking, creativity and flexibility to create and drive programmes, from understanding the strategic vision, translating that vision into specific initiatives and activities for implementation, producing estimates, defining scope and building requirements through to deployment, orchestrating timely delivery across a complex, global organizational structure and leading all associated change management activities. They will lead the critical path and proactively manage and report on the programme risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies, milestone compliance, cost/budget/quality deliverables and communications across multiple leadership stakeholders. Implicit therefore is the need to have exceptional communication, stakeholder management, programme management and change management skills.

Part of the role is leading the team to analyse business data (alongside qualitative policy, legal, best practice or tax information) in the context of current business priorities and strategic change programmes, looking for anomalies and other points of interest that would suggest an opportunity exists to make improvements. Critically though this role isn’t just about crunching data, it is about using the data to enable meaningful business discussions that ultimately drive change linked to strategic priorities. 

The SPDI team is a team of 23 people and has an operating budget in excess of $1m (flexible depending on program and project scope). The work is typically intellectually very challenging and best suits somebody who thrives on dealing with complex business problems and has the ability to make recommendations on the strategic changes that should be made to address any identified issues.

Qualifications

UKI and Europe Strategic Programme Management

  • Lead and deliver multiple large complex programs across multiple Market Units, often involving multiple teams from different parts of the business with a program budget often in excess of $1M and business impact in excess of $10M

  • 2-3 Managers as direct reports (located across UK and Europe). Mentor and provide guidance to team members and project resources

  • Set strategic direction of work with ability to leverage external business information and business leadership network to align strategy to desired business outcomes, current legislative, economic, social and political agendas and latest technological advancements and to build new solutions for complex, cross functional problems. Requires development and execution of strategy to achieve key business objectives in area of responsibility.

  • Scope requirements; pulling from qualitative and quantitative sources to ensure the business drivers for change are fully understood and can be tracked and delivered

  • Build and engage virtual and fluid project teams of senior functional leads and SMEs to deliver successful change agenda

  • Provide Q&A across deliverables and against the overall strategic objectives of the programme; ensuring that all activities remain core to the project

  • Manage change requests as a result of the change of scope, or due to Q&A; whilst ensuring that projects are still delivered in a timely manner

  • Proactively manage and monitor status in an effective manner; escalate issues to management which cannot be resolved at the programme/project level

  • Create and manage effective change plans, communications, stakeholder management and reporting to ensure the project stakeholders' expectations are understood and managed

  • Take responsibility for end-to-end solution delivery, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality project deliverables through effective team communications and focus on quality

  • Ensure that all requirements, project plans, and changes to commitment are communicated to all affected team members

  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams

Data Driven Change Insights

  • Through understanding of priority strategic programmes, discussions with the UKI and Europe GS Lead, UKI and Europe SPODI Lead, and UKI and Europe leadership stakeholders, as well as relevant parts of the business, determine their business agenda, and the best way to identify opportunities and support actions to drive real business change

  • Lead the team to leverage data to identify opportunities to drive business improvements, policy compliance or address broader business risks; across UKI and Europe, and incorporating other parts of the world as required

  • Constantly work to bring together relevant data and information from multiple sources and teams, in a way that’s easily accessible and understood, rather than complex and hard to action

  • Make recommendations on which opportunities should or should not be pursued based on the value of the opportunity versus the complexity and sustainability of the required change

  • Embed any agreed data driven actions within change programmes, to enable the business to take action and deliver results

  • As needed negotiate, influence and provide coaching to stakeholders and project team members so that they can use the insights to drive action

  • Where appropriate work with the enterprise insights team to industrialise any reports that have been identified as long-term business requirements, rather than short term strategic analysis

  • As needed escalate to leadership attention when opportunities or issues are not promptly addressed by the appropriate part of the business

People Management

  • Responsibility for directly leading large, complex, diverse teams of people across multiple areas of specialization. Accountable for individual and team member performance achievement.

  • Expected to build relationships and networks within Accenture and/or clients.
