We take full ownership of our clients marketing technology journey – which includes:
- Long- and short-term marketing technology roadmap
- Advising regarding marketing technology platforms
- Supporting and hosting marketing technology platforms
- Implementations and migrations
- Development and training
- Ongoing campaign execution/management and marketing operations
BACKEND DEVELOPER
As a Backend Developer at Kaplan you will create leading marketing technology solutions in our highly skilled and award-winning tech team. You will be a part of our Marketing Technology department (today 25 people; Backend Developers, Frontend Developers, Solution Architects and System Specialists) creating relevant customer journeys and experiences daily. Experience in customer management, Adobe Marketing Solutions as well as CRM is a strong advantage.
As a Backend Developer we expect you to have a technical understanding and a consulting focus. By that we mean that we would like you to have experience in developing technical solutions and you understand and can communicate with our clients.
It is important for us that you can see the big picture, as understanding both the customers technical landscape but also their business is key for us to be able to deliver high quality solutions.
Our projects
All our projects are unique and adapted to the customer's situation and goals. You will work on designing and optimizing data-driven communications across all digital channels as well as work with content distribution for personalized experiences. Our customer team is cross-functional with system specialists and developers, strategists, creators and analysts. Most of the time, we work from our office on Sturegatan in Stockholm and sometimes from the client’s office.
Qualifications
Requirements
- 1-2 years of Backend Development experience
- Adobe Experience Cloud - We use Adobe Campaign a lot and would prefer if you also do.
- JavaScript - In this role we use server-side JavaScript, but if you have experience with JavaScript on the client side that is also valuable. We often use vanilla JavaScript, but we also use frameworks. It’s great if you have experience working with some of them. We like JavaScript and we think you do too.
- Data modelling - You can develop data models on a basic level. You have a good understanding of how data is structured and a keen interest in working with large amounts of data. We like large amounts of data, almost as much as JavaScript.
- Integrations - Integration environments vary, and you have made integrations between different systems. We also often help to define integration methods together with our clients. Integrations, we really like these, probably even more than JavaScript. And we really like JavaScript.
- Basic knowledge of Swedish and fluent in English.

- HTML, CSS, XML, SOAP, REST, JSON
- Developed module-based HTML emails
- Experience with products within Adobe Marketing Cloud
- A / B tests - Experience in testing, measuring power and drawing conclusions to increase results
