Technology Strategy type of work

You will lead or be part of Technology Strategy engagements for Nordic clients. These engagements include helping clients develop digital and IT strategies, develop effective IT operating models, drive value and cost efficiency from technology investments, support M&As with technology due diligence, and transform businesses to leaders by leveraging new technology.


As a Manager or Senior Manager you will be part of the Swedish Technology Strategy management team and have an active role in driving and developing the practice.


Key responsibilities – Consultant level

 

Client Delivery and Development


  • Drives analysis and provides solutions to complex technology and IT problems within managed workstreams in areas where an in-depth knowledge of our clients’ strategic objectives and technology landscape is required
  • Effectively communicates findings to C-level executives, in collaboration with engagement lead
  • Synthesizes numerous analytic efforts to draw meaningful conclusions, identify implications for recommendations, and achieve client buy-in
  • Frequent interaction with senior stakeholders at client, which involves presenting analysis and recommendations and facilitating workshops
  • Develops and maintains strong trust-based relationships with clients
  • Managing activities and deliverables against plan, reviewing draft output, and providing feedback/coaching to more junior project team members
  • Assesses and manages risks and issues, ultimately ensuring that workstream objectives are achieved
  • Involved in setting strategic direction for technology and IT to establish near term goals for business and IT organizations

 

Practice Building

 

  • Develops expertise in specific practice specialty areas to increase the breadth and depth of our knowledge base and capabilities
  • Contributes in to developing our brand and presence in the marketplace (e.g. publication of thought leadership, offering development, recruiting activities)
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to analysts and as part of executing projects

 

Key responsibilities – Manager level

 

Client Delivery and Development

 

  • Plays a significant role in developing new technology strategy consulting opportunities with our clients, shaping proposals, and gaining client agreement to move forward
  • Provides solutions to complex technology and IT problems for C-level executives where analysis of situations requires an in-depth knowledge of our clients’ strategic objectives and technology landscape
  • Operationally leads strategy engagements; synthesizes numerous analytic efforts to draw meaningful conclusions, identify implications for recommendations, and achieve client buy-in
  • Frequent interaction with management at client, which involves presenting analysis and recommendations, facilitating workshops, and negotiating or influencing on significant matters
  • Develops and maintains strong trust-based relationships with clients
  • Managing activities and deliverables against plan, reviewing draft output, and providing feedback and coaching to project team members
  • Assesses and manages risks and issues, ultimately ensuring that project objectives are achieved
  • Involved in setting strategic direction for technology and IT to establish near term goals for business and IT organizations

 

Practice Building

 

  • Develops expertise in specific practice specialty areas to increase the breadth and depth of our knowledge base and capabilities
  • Elevates our brand and presence in the marketplace (e.g. publication of thought leadership, offering development, recruiting)
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to analysts and consultants as part of executing projects and in a Career Counselor capacity
  • Part of Technology Strategy management team

 

Key responsibilities – Senior Manager level 

 

Client Delivery and Development

 

  • Plays a significant role in developing new technology strategy consulting opportunities with our clients, shaping proposals, and gaining client agreement to move forward
  • Provides solutions to complex technology and IT problems for C-level executives where analysis of situations requires an in-depth knowledge of our clients’ strategic objectives and technology landscape
  • Leads strategy engagements; Synthesizes numerous analytic efforts to draw meaningful conclusions, identify implications for recommendations, and achieve client buy-in
  • Established as a trusted advisor with clients senior management
  • Develops and maintains strong trust-based relationships with clients (on all levels)
  • Engagement lead for parallel projects and coaches Managers and Consultants who operationally drives the projects to ensure project success and develop their skills
  • Assesses and manages risks and issues, ultimately ensuring that project objectives are achieved
  • Involved in setting strategic direction for technology and IT to establish near term goals for business and IT organizations

 

Practice Building


  • Develops expertise in specific practice specialty areas to increase the breadth and depth of our knowledge base and capabilities
  • Actively drives brand development and presence in the marketplace (e.g. publication of thought leadership, offering development, recruiting)
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to analysts, consultants, and managers, as part of executing projects and in a Career Counselor capacity

 


Qualifications


Basic Qualifications


  • Excellent technology acumen and deep experience of technology and IT strategy and/or transformations
  • Several years of experience from consulting at a renowned consulting firm and/or from relevant line management positions
    • Consultant – 2 to 5 years
    • Manager – 5 to 8 years
    • Senior Manager – 8 Years+

  • Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment 
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills, and strong executive presence
  • Excellent leadership and management skills 
    • Attention to detail while managing competing priorities and tight time pressures
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Ability to facilitate client meetings (on all levels)
    • Desire to lead and motivate teams in dynamic and challenging work environments
    • Results-oriented, self-directed, inquisitive, and entrepreneurial-minded


Particular interest for candidates with:


  • Retail and Financial services industry experience
  • Enterprise architecture experience
  • Emerging technology experience (e.g. Robotics, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Agile architectures)
  • Experience of new ways of working (e.g. agile, DevOps, Design Thinking)


Education: M.Sc. in Engineering or Business

Language: English and Swedish
