Role Description

Within Technology Strategy we create strategies and plans that define how information technology should be utilized to support and enable an organization's overall business goals. Collaborate with IT and business leaders to address immediate IT needs, to get the most business value from existing IT investments and to position IT organizations to deliver more business benefits in the future. Help IT leaders transform the IT function to better enable business generation through digital revenue channels, as well as to achieve operational excellence and tight alignment with business strategy in general.

Develop knowledge of evolving trends in technology (e.g., Cloud, Mobility, Analytics, Social Media, e-commerce), and apply these to define opportunities for client organizations to deliver new business capabilities, profitable growth and competitive cost efficiencies. Drive cross-function cooperation with your colleagues in Accenture’s other offerings (Business, Operations and Functional Strategy, as well as Digital and Technology), to gain a holistic grasp of the client’s situation and to collectively advise them on what strategic actions will unleash their full market potential.

Key responsibilities:

Apply strategy development, architecting value and operating model architecture skills


  • Perform analysis to gain insights; use insights to determine what the client needs to change and how to get there; diagnose the issue and plan the transformation 
  • Drive a rigorous and structured approach to identifying and solving business problems that leads to strategic insights 
  • Lead value analysis to generate insights and identify value creation opportunities for clients 
  • Partner with our clients to make bold decisions on priority C-Suite issues
  • Shape and lead innovative and pragmatic programs that translate results from business diagnosis and planning into transformation solutions 
  • Identify/prioritize value creation opportunities based on assessment activities and an understanding of high-level visions, performance gaps, and needs 
  • Lead the creation of well-articulated thought leadership assets that present innovative and action-oriented information, insight, knowledge, guidance and recommendations on a specific market-relevant strategy topic


Project assignments can include:


  • Develop and formulate IT/digital strategies and strategic plans 
  • Describe and assess advantages/disadvantages of strategic/architecture options 
  • Lead implementation of strategies and IT transformations 
  • Design and develop IT governance structures and operating models 
  • Construct evaluation model for managing and prioritizing IT demand 
  • Design and implement performance measurements/KPIs 
  • Support M&A activities with IT due diligence




Manager Responsibilities: 

As part of the Technology Strategy Management Team you are expected to:


  • Develop the community’s knowledge and human resource capital 
  • Build and manage productive client relationships 
  • Drive business development activities towards achieving budget objectives







Professional skill requirements:


  • Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment 
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment 
  • Strong understanding of industry operations and dynamics through experience in a specific industry is beneficial 
  • Proven ability to build strong client relationships 
  • Desire to work in an information systems environment 
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to travel 100%


Education: MSc in Engineering or Business

Language: English/Swedish

Prior experience:

Consultant level


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with IT strategy and/or corporate strategy towards C-level executives 
  • Experience from generating business cases (quantitative and qualitative) to support strategic business initiatives, process improvement initiatives, or IT transformation 
  • Experience from working in transformation projects in a larger organization, be it your own or a client’s
  • Having led others in various sub streams is highly valued and a strong merit


Manager level


  • Minimum 6 years of experience working with IT strategy and/or corporate strategy towards C-level executives 
  • Minimum 6 years of experience writing business cases (quantitative and qualitative) to support strategic business initiatives, process improvement initiatives, or IT transformation 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading or managing small teams effectively including planning/structuring analytical work, facilitating team workshops, and developing IT strategy recommendations (e.g., IT capability improvements, key initiatives, roadmaps)
  • Prior consulting experience is highly valued and a strong merit
