Accenture Oracle Business Group

Make the move to the cloud—faster, confidently and with less risk

Today’s marketplace is getting more and more competitive. The journey to cloud is no longer a business option—it’s now an imperative. The Accenture Oracle Business Group (AOBG) helps make that move—faster, confidently and with less risk—with a simplified, yet customized path to the cloud. Through the power of Oracle’s agile set of cloud offerings and Accenture’s deep industry, technology and delivery expertise, we deliver real, tangible results today—while preparing you for tomorrow.

The Accenture Oracle Business Group continues to expand its industry-focused solutions based on our years of deep industry expertise. Our solutions include public service, hospitality, banking/capital markets, federal, insurance, health, higher education, oil and gas, and utilities solutions. By extending our offerings to include IaaS, our robust set of industry solutions will be available across a comprehensive cloud suite of offerings, including both Oracle and non-Oracle workloads.

With the addition of IaaS to the Accenture Oracle Business Group, Accenture has launched the following offerings:

  • Accenture migration services factory for Oracle IaaS, which provides assets and accelerators to help clients migrate data and other applications to Oracle IaaS Cloud.

  • Accenture database performance lab for Oracle IaaS, focusing solely on database performance, operated by the Accenture Enkitec Group, an organization with deep skills in Oracle database and engineered systems.

  • Accenture managed services for Oracle Public Cloud (across SaaS, PaaS and IaaS); in addition, Accenture was named as the first partner in Oracle's new Cloud Managed Service Provider Program.

The advantages of the cloud are increasingly clear. But less clear is the path that companies should take to move to the cloud. By recently expanding AOBG to include Oracle IaaS into the platform, Accenture conducted a series of performance tests on various Oracle IaaS and PaaS cloud solutions, along with other commonly used solutions, both on-premises and cloud-based.

Accenture set out to help answer two key questions that executives are facing today: Is the cloud ready to handle enterprise-grade solutions? And is it going to be cost-effective?

Accenture answered these key questions and found the Oracle Cloud solutions delivered more than three times the performance of other solutions, and demonstrated that they could handle more than five times the transactions per dollar. The test results showed that Oracle Cloud solutions provide a cost-effective approach to handling enterprise workloads; and in a larger sense, the results underscore the fact that the cloud has evolved into an attractive mainstream technology for businesses. Our research report details database performance and insights into the real-world feasibility of putting critical systems on the cloud.

The tests were an independent study conducted by the Accenture Enkitec Group, which has one of the largest concentrations of senior talent in Oracle database and engineered systems in the world, and has completed well over 600 Oracle Exadata implementations worldwide. The Oracle Cloud tests were conducted at the group’s Oracle Innovation Center in Dallas, Texas, and drew on experts from around the globe.
