Key Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Lead strategy consulting engagements across the oil & gas value chain, including upstream, midstream, downstream, and new energy domains. 

  • Partner with client leadership to shape strategic agendas, including portfolio optimization, market entry/expansion, decarbonization pathways, digital transformation, and operational excellence. 

  • Conduct rigorous industry and market analysis to identify growth opportunities, efficiency levers, and disruptive trends in oil & gas and energy transition. 

  • Develop and deliver strategic operating models, transformation roadmaps, and investment cases, ensuring alignment with client objectives and regulatory environments. 

  • Document and assess business processes, develop functional requirements, optimize supply chains, and deliver other project outcomes as required. 

  • Demonstrate deep industry expertise with strong knowledge of energy value chains, and support the development of growth strategies for the practice by identifying and shaping opportunities with clients. 

  • Shoulder responsibility for business development targets, including initiating executive-level conversations, building proposals, understanding client needs, and creating new business opportunities within assigned accounts or territories. 

  • Operate effectively in a client-facing role with exposure to global stakeholders, adapting to different cultural contexts and organizational dynamics. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and gather detailed requirements. 

  • Travel to client sites, as needed, to support project delivery and work closely with client teams on the ground. 

Essential Qualifications 

  • 2–8 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector with a strong focus on both/either upstream (E&P, drilling, well operations) and downstream (refining, petrochemicals, supply chain) domains. 

  • Upstream expertise spanning well operations (offshore and unconventional), offshore well site engineering, drilling operations (HSE, materials management, reliability/integrity), subsurface geosciences, surface facilities, reservoir management, and petroleum development (commercial and regulatory aspects). 

  • Downstream expertise in refining and petrochemicals, including supply chain processes, maintenance, product planning and scheduling, packaging, blending, recipe management, process optimization, and digital transformation initiatives. 

  • Proven ability to identify and quantify digital disruption opportunities (e.g., analytics, automation, worker safety, well integrity, and process optimization) and apply emerging technologies (Power BI, Tableau, machine learning, and data analytics) to deliver measurable impact. 

  • Strong track record in consulting delivery—business development (pitches, RFPs, proposals, solution architecture), client engagement across the full lifecycle (inception to delivery), and ownership of project outcomes. 

  • Experience in sales and marketing of refined and petrochemical products, customer value management, route-to-market transformation, and channel growth through relationship management. 

  • Demonstrated leadership in practice development and project execution, including stakeholder management, team leadership for product development/implementation, and change management. 

  • Recognized for solving complex business issues, driving client satisfaction, and delivering sustainable results through structured problem-solving and strategic insight.
