I think it’s critical for executives to take the time to do something outside of their day-to-day corporate work. People who have had a great education and career opportunities need to help those who haven’t had the same breaks.
When I’m not working, my passion is running. So, I joined the advisory board for Back on My Feet in New York City.
Back on My Feet is a non-profit that helps homeless people through a disciplined running program. It uses running and community to motivate and support individuals from homelessness to independence–restoring their self-esteem and strength and helping them move towards jobs, homes and better lives.
Effective leadership means understanding what matters to you and the impact you can have on others.
