Global Tax Group Associate Manager
The successful candidate will support the Area Tax Lead in providing advice for the efficient implementation of client engagements, regional tax planning opportunities and M&A projects, as well as assisting with the supervision of tax compliance across multiple countries. The region includes Italy, Poland, Greece, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary and Cyprus.
The role requires frequent interaction with regional management, senior finance and legal personnel, treasury, controllership, and other members of the Accenture Global Tax Group worldwide. Activities will include routine consultation, tax return support, and cross-border structuring.
The role requires the ability to:
- Analyze potential tax implications for transactions and business projects, in collaboration with clients, internal functions, and external advisors.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws and regulations, monitor legislative changes, and support annual statutory audits (for material tax items)
- Contribute to the development of tax planning proposals and coordinate with GTG Leads for implementation
- Communicate complex tax matters to non-tax stakeholders and leadership
- Collaborate with other tax groups to harmonize in-country tax planning, M&A projects and post-acquisition integration of the newly acquired entities
- Support the management of tax audits and controversies, coordinating external advisers in collaboration with the Area Tax Lead and Regional Tax Director
- Assist with income tax returns, tax accounting, forecasting, and reporting activities
Job Qualifications
- Recognized tax qualification with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Previous experience in a Big 4 international tax department or in a equivalent tax firms is appreciated
- Good knowledge and understanding of international tax principles and local tax regulations in the ICEG region
- Fluency in English and Italian or Polish, spoken and written. Other European languages are a plus
- Ability to work as part of a team and manage multiple projects in an international context
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications
- University degree
