Born in Lisbon, inside a family with a strong connection to the musical panorama, Raquel Tavares, started from a very young age frequenting the "tertúlias of fado." The studies led her to other ways, following a normal course of education and maturity, until "destiny" took fado back to her life and begun the career.
Back to the fado corners of Lisbon, she signed the first record deal aged 18. In 2006 the first record was release, and granted her the revelation fado singer prize "Prémios Amália Rodrigues."
Raquel Tavares, is one of the most well-known voices of Fado.
