Scott Cullen, MD is a managing director at Accenture and serves as the North America Provider Lead and Chief Clinical Innovation Officer. Dr. Cullen helps guide provider healthcare organizations to lead their markets by focusing on strategic transformation and practical change management approaches in an environment of rapid change and competing priorities.
With 25 years’ experience as a primary care practitioner, executive and consultant, Dr. Cullen helps clients drive innovations that address the many new challenges providers face, enabling them to become value-driven, patient-centered organizations. He has extensive experience in strategy, clinical and operational process redesign, and process and technology implementation across the United States.
Dr. Cullen has led the development of strategy and implementation for network development, population health management and care model transformation for dozens of organizations, including the largest for-profit health system in the United States. In addition, he has supported leading institutions in realizing the value of their technology investments through innovation at the intersection between patient experience and clinical delivery.
He began his career in primary care practice at the Mass General Brigham Health System after studying engineering, architecture and medicine. During his ten years in practice, he built his own technology solutions to address the challenges in primary care, eventually making the transition to consulting after commercializing his applications.
Dr. Cullen holds a medical doctorate from the University of Connecticut and received residency training in family medicine at Brown University. His undergraduate degree is from Wesleyan University.
