Josh Ray is the Global Lead for Accenture Security's Cyber Defense Practice. In this role, he leads a team of best in class subject matter experts who operate in a continuously evolving business and digital environment and help some of the largest most influential organizations. We help our clients defend themselves against some of the most advanced cyber threats in order to achieve cyber resilience.
Josh has more than 18 years of combined commercial, government and military experience in the field of cyber intelligence, threat operations and information security. He specializes in communications, electronics and high tech, and public service. He also has expertise in the Department of Defense, United States Interdiction Coordinator and the Defense Industrial Base.
Prior to Accenture’s acquisition of Verisign’s iDefense, Josh was responsible for Verisign’s enterprise cyber intelligence program as well as the operations and product strategy of the iDefense business. During his work with Raytheon, Josh created and managed its Cyber Threat Operations Intelligence Program, which handled enterprise-wide intelligence activities focusing on defining and providing early warning of advanced cyber threats targeting Raytheon’s networks. Josh also held technical leadership roles with the Office of Naval Intelligence and the Northrop Grumman Corporation at the Joint Task Force—Global Network Operations, providing intelligence support to focused operations. Josh served honorably as a member of the US Navy.
Josh’s affiliations include the GBEF, Certified Information Systems Security Professional and Certified Ethical Hacker. He volunteers his time with Generosity Feeds and the USO and he also enjoys volunteering as a professional mentor.
Josh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in information technology and network security from George Mason University and an Executive Certificate in strategy and innovation from MIT Sloan School of Management.
In his free time, Josh enjoys spending time with family, skiing and exercising.
