I manage the Accenture Enterprise Enablement Personnel Administration team which provides support to the company’s Corporate Functions group and our employees for the compensation administration and records management. We also perform internal controls for quality assurance prior to payouts.
Day In My Life
The first hour at work is critical. I don’t want to dive into my emails right away because it would end up dictating the rest of my day. I want to make sure that I make a connection with my team before anything else. Making that connection is essential. My people mean a lot to me, without them, I wouldn’t be where I am now. A simple greeting, a smile, asking how their night was or checking on what they need, simple gestures such as those are important to me.
Meetings tend to take a lot of time from work so it’s important to have a priority list. I dive into assessing my priorities for the day, once that’s done, I check on urgent emails and include that to the priorities. As I go along my day, I delegate tasks, meet up with clients and stakeholders, and ensure all action plans agreed are followed through. Luckily I have a very supportive leadership team who finds time to help me when I need guidance or direction.
However good or bad the day goes, a cup of coffee, connecting with the people who inspire me to work harder, and the thought that I have an equally hardworking and loving husband and our pets waiting at home makes everything worth it.
I’m a firm believer of the need to invest in yourself - in and out of the office. What makes anyone successful and even more productive at work is related to how you spend your time outside of work. Ever since I was a child, I’ve always enjoyed swimming and later on developed my passion in scuba diving. My husband and I gone through series of scuba diving training until we were certified to be a rescue diver. Scuba diving has strengthened my ability to think on my feet and to also be more sensitive to other people’s needs. It has not only helped me with my journey to be a more well-rounded person it has also given me the amazing opportunity to experience exciting things and creatures under the water. My husband and I, along with our dog, a 7 year old Minipinscher, always make time to hit the sea as often as we can.
