An Information Systems fresh graduate of UST, Vanessa landed her first job in Analytics Advisory at Accenture. Four years later, she’s still on at newcomer’s high--and ready to go higher!
Right off the bat, Vanessa was entrusted with deploying several utilities and analytics dashboards that generated bigger savings for her account. She gained confidence early on because of her team. “Usually within a team, there are experienced folks who have mastered the know-how, and also fresh graduates, like myself, with a brand new pair of eyes. That’s a winning combo,” she explained.
Empowering people, be they seniors or newcomers, is critical in tackling business challenges. Accenture’s supportive working culture allowed Vanessa to get more creative and improve her work through innovative technology that created new devices that improves how work is done.
As part of the Analytics team, she has specialized in Data Analytics and Interpretation, Data Visualization, Service Analytics & Reporting, Power BI, and Stakeholder Management. She also attributes her growth to her good relationships with stakeholders, both onshore and offshore, and the support from other teams within the account--Reporting, Business Transformation and Quality.
Vanessa is now working as a Functional Analyst, making the most out of her newly acquired skills as a data visualization specialist by transforming data into powerful dashboards that drive daily insights into business outcomes.
“Yes, we have the best training and learning tools, but we also have the best people. The leadership’s support and push will shape your career and enhance your skills,” she concluded.
Vanessa still likes to think of herself as a newcomer--amindset that keeps her drive to innovate always at its peak. She started her career with a bang and there’s no stopping her as she takes on her next challenge – mastering Phyton, Tableau, and Data Studio.
