While most of his friends spend hours lifting weights to build up their stamina, Jimmy Ramos confined himself in his garage--to customize his car. He has always been passionate about understanding processes and making them run faster and smoother.
Given his love for technology, taking up computer science was a no brainer for Jimmy. He started his career in Finance, an integral piece of any company's growth strategy―which is at its most efficient when equipped with the right tech solutions.
When Jimmy joined Accenture 11 years ago, the company was dead set on transforming its financial services to become more innovative and agile. He fit right in from the get-go, and as a Cash Application Analyst, he made his teammates' lives easier by automating entries and reports.
Jimmy introduced his team to automation. Recognizing his pioneering skills, his manager then recommended him for a brand new role as Reporting Analyst to help drive critical business decisions based on metrics and process effectiveness.
Jimmy recalls spending much time on training and tech events. These helped him improve his skills and taught him that instead of replacing people with machines to improve existing processes, it’s best and more beneficial to reinforce the relationship between humans and smart technologies.
After a year with the Continuous Improvement team, Jimmy landed his dream role as Automations Lead in 2015. Now, he spends his days talking to people and asking them about their day, their work routines and everyday challenges. Then, as in the good old days, he steps into his new garage and starts programming to create applications that make more processes simpler.
Leading global companies are now using his automation tools, and his process improvements impact the lives of many across the world. But he still manages to have fun and be excited for what's next.
Accenture constantly exposes him to the newest technology, so his latest passions are emerging technologies, such as Blockchain and Process mining.
"I love what I am doing. I feel accomplished each time I deploy new automation. It feels like I am making a new Jarvis that eventually will create the next “Iron Man”.", says Jimmy.
When this hero is not wearing his automation hat providing high-tech solutions to our clients, he could be looking for an ancient coin or banknote from the Philippines to add to his collection. But more often than not, he'd be playing chess.
