Dathy A.

Associate Manager

Philippines

"From analyst to associate manager—Dathy leverages opportunities to grow professionally at Accenture."

Dathy: Lifelong learner

For most, 13 years seem like such a long time to stick with one employer. But Associate Manager Dathy continues to stay with Accenture even after a decade because the company’s diverse and inclusive culture breeds innovation and opportunities for further learning and upskilling.

“My mantra at work is to keep moving and learning,” Dathy shares. “Accenture’s culture of respect empowers me to do just that—the company gives equal opportunities for each employee to grow and reach career milestones.”

When she applied as a collections analyst in 2008, Dathy knew little about data & analytics and other digital tech. She also lacked confidence speaking in front of people. But after taking different trainings, collaborating with other teams and being mentored by her leads, this avid traveler not only learned the power of automation and artificial intelligence (AI), she also discovered how to use these to create solutions to help improve collections from their client’s customers.

And slowly but surely, Dathy has also conquered the jitters in speaking with clients and before groups of people. “I learned a lot, especially from the speech power training which was run by our project back then,” she recalls. “That helped me build my confidence in dealing and conversing with clients. The leadership training sessions I took also prepared me to manage my own team.”

In due time, Dathy rose through the ranks to become associate manager in 2020. Now, she oversees a team in charge of making sure payments from customers are received and allocated on time.

“Part of our responsibilities is seeing to it that all new customers are creditworthy, too,“ Dathy adds.

Using data analytics and tools, such as Microsoft’s Power BI and Collections Forecast, Dathy and her team compile all the data they need, including overdue balances and late payments, to create crucial collections metrics and forecasts. Such resources also enable her team to convert late paying accounts to on-time payers, and help their client conserve working capital.

Dathy has certainly come a long way from her early years as an entry-level collections analyst—and she credits Accenture for helping her expand her experience and knowledge, and for boosting her career.

“The best things about my jobs are opportunities for continuous learning and being part of a great and very competitive team. I also love that Accenture continues to empower all of us to reinvent the way we work through different technology platforms.”
