The DevOps Engineer:

  •  Work with log and search analysis to support alert investigations and system monitoring.
  • Apply scripting skills (primarily Python) for automation, data processing, and reporting.
  • Collaborate across departments to drive data-driven decisions and improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain and enhance technical documentation and standard procedures.
  • Use tools like Terraform, Ansible, Helm or Kubernetes to provision and manage infrastructure in a repeatable, version-controlled manner.
  • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions
  • Manage cloud resources (AWS, Azure, GCP) for scalability, cost-efficiency, and resilience.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic) to ensure system uptime and performance.

Job Description

As an AI Infrastructure Architecture Spec in a hybrid support operations and engineering role, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving system reliability, infrastructure, and automation workflows. You will support and manage CI/CD pipelines, apply infrastructure-as-code principles, and ensure seamless deployment and configuration across environments. A key part of your role will involve configuring and managing monitoring and alerting systems using Grafana to ensure visibility into system performance and rapid response to issues.

In addition, you will manage and support search related search infrastructure to ensure robust data discovery and indexing. You'll also leverage Python to build automation scripts for data processing and generate operational reports to support technical and business stakeholders. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, technical curiosity, and the ability to collaborate across teams to ensure systems run efficiently and insights are effectively communicated.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

Technical Skills

  • Search and Log Analysis: Hands-on experience in managing search environments and analyzing large volumes of logs, particularly for alert investigation and system monitoring.
  • Python Scripting: Able to work with Python scripts for tasks such as report generation, automation, and data processing when required.
  • Basic Programming Understanding: Comfortable reading and interpreting short scripts to support technical tasks and troubleshooting.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize Terraform to create and manage infrastructure resources on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Container Orchestration: Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes or Amazon ECS.
  • Dockerization: Build, optimize, and maintain Docker images for seamless deployment.
  • Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts using shell, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Set up and enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
  • Monitoring and Logging: Implement monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and centralize logs for troubleshooting.
  • Security Best Practices: Ensure infrastructure security by following industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, data science, and operations teams to align infrastructure requirements with project goals.
     

Essential Competencies

  • Experience with ticketing systems and ticketing handling.
  • Experience in cloud-based infrastructure environments like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
  • Working experience in Linux, Windows, Active Directory, PowerShell and bash scripting.
  • Shell scripting experience (EG.: UNIX/Linux, PowerShell, Python)
  • Basic skills in code development to debug and/or code small components.
  • Excellent client-facing skills
  • Problem solving/analysis
  • Must have some knowledge and/or experience with incident and problem management and troubleshooting to investigate, diagnose and resolve any production issues.
  • Investigation and communication skills (for clear understanding of problems and troubleshooting).
  • Ongoing ability and desire to learn new technologies
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent time management and documentation skills.

    Basic requirements

    • College degree or advanced studies in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar
    • 3 years of IT Engineer/System Administrator related activities experience

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    • Experience with search engines like Open search, Elasticsearch, Sinequa, and Coveo.
    • Tool Familiarity (Preferred): Exposure to tools such as Lucidworks for enterprise search and Grafana for monitoring and visualization.
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar cloud certifications
