Job Description

  • Review and analyze the given software requirements for the system under test
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure high-quality software products are delivered
  • Prepare and manage test data to be used during test execution
  • Identify and record defects found in the system based on the project’s defined standards and help in tracking resolution as well
  • Record test execution results and document test evidences accordingly
  • Collaborate with the development team to resolve and clarify any issues in a timely manner
  • Validate defect fixes and record results on the defect management tool
  • Report test execution status accurately 
  • Inform test lead/test manager of any risks or issues that may affect the schedule, budget, or quality of the product or the testing process.
  • Propose improvements on the current testing processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Sound understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and where testing fits into the process
  • Proven work experience in software quality assurance or software testing
  • Proficient on test planning, test execution and defect management
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, processes and best practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality driven
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new technologies and tools
  • Willing to work in different time zones, if needed

Nice to Have:

  • ISTQB Certification or other equivalent certifications
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes
  • Experience with testing web applications, mobile applications, and APIs
  • Experience with test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or HP ALM
  • Background on any test automation tool (e.g. Selenium, Tosca Testsuite, Katalon Studio, Cypress, UiPath Test Suite, etc.) is a plus
