Splunk Administration - Software Prod & Plat Eng Team Lead
Job Description
- Splunk Admin Role involves deploying, configuring, and optimizing Splunk software to ensure efficient data ingestion, indexing, and search capabilities. Splunk Admins collaborate closely with various teams to understand data requirements, develop and implement data onboarding strategies, and create custom dashboards and reports to visualize insights.
- They are tasked with monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the security and availability of the Splunk environment. Additionally, Splunk Admins stay up-to-date with the latest Splunk features and best practices to continuously enhance the platform's functionality and contribute to the organization's data-driven decision-making processes.
- Key responsibilities of a Splunk Admin also include managing user access and permissions, implementing data retention policies, and working to scale the Splunk infrastructure to accommodate increasing data volumes. They play a vital role in maintaining compliance with data security regulations and industry standards, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to address operational challenges and enhance system capabilities.

Qualifications
Splunk Dashboard developer
o Knows how to create and customize dashboards in Splunk Understand the various visualization options available, such as charts, tables, maps, and time series visualizations
o Skills in data analysis to derive insights from the raw data ingested into Splunk Utilize SPL functions and commands to perform data transformations, filtering, aggregation, and statistical analysis
o Familiarity with user interface UI design principles is crucial for creating visually appealing and user-friendly Splunk dashboards Understand concepts like information hierarchy, color schemes, typography, and layout to effectively design and organize dashboard components
o Skills in optimizing search queries to improve dashboard performance and reduce query execution time Understand techniques like search filters, data summarization, and using summary indexes or lookup tables for faster data retrieval
Splunk Architect Certified
o Have knowledge on designing and deploying scalable Splunk architectures to meet specific business requirements It covers topics such as forwarder deployment, indexer clustering, search head clustering, and high availability
o The skill involves managing Splunk deployments, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting It covers topics such as Splunk architecture, user management, data inputs, and index management
