Job Description
Role Scope
• Lead a dynamic and highly collaborative team of professional writers around the world that creates and edits a wide-range of written material for internal Accenture audiences in support of internal communication strategies and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage a team of writers, including directing staffing on new requests and projects, review/approve drafts, ensure work completed in a timely manner, etc.
• Act as a people lead including day-to-day management and support, career development, annual performance achievement processes, etc.
• Work closely with peers in Audience & Writing team to ensure projects are staffed and make use of cross-team skills
• Collaborate with People Engagement Business Partners, Stakeholders and other M+C teams
• Prepare for projects, including Subject Matter Expert discussions, interviews, review of materials, development of outlines, etc.
• Write, proofread, edit in English
• Apply global Accenture writing and style-guide changes
• Ensure writing is accessible and culturally appropriate for the intended internal audience
• Seek, learn and apply highest standards of writing quality for every internal communication channel and application
Qualifications
Job Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 12 years overall experience; 10 years of internal communications experience or equivalent writing experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or Literature
Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced proficiency in writing and editing in English
• Expertise writing with AP, Chicago and Oxford Styleguides
• Experience writing for global publications or journals
Professional Qualifications:
• Proven leadership, management and collaboration skills
• Strong communication planning skills
• Exceptional Writing Development and Writing & Editing Skills including:
• Writing Idea Development
• Writing Interviewing and Research
• Writing Project Analysis
• Editing Process
• Proofreading
• Writing Structure
• Writing and Story Development
• Experience with executive communication writing preferred
• Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Quick self-starter with a proven record of success
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Able to work effectively across functional and geographic groups
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
