POSITION TITLE: Network Operations Specialist | Dark Fibre
WORK SETUP: Hybrid
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for management of the fiber optic network acceptance queue and assigning relevant analysis tasks to available Fiber analyst resources
• Acts as the first escalation point of contact for Junior Analysts
• Ensures dark fibre acceptance standards are met by vendors as expected, for handover into the transport team.
• Intake of all vendor test results and TOPs, and identifying specific workflow for analysis to be progressed
• Continuous coordination with junior analyst resources and field engineers on ticket status updates
• Scheduling work assignment of planned date for completion of TFA Field resource testing
• Leads discussions with carriers/vendors for all remediation activities, challenges, resolution, and updates.
• Managing exceptions to spec as they arise ensuring all key stakeholders are in agreement on next steps

Qualifications
SKILL AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Open to college graduate and undergraduate with relevant work experience
• Must have at least 5 years of experience in Telecommunications / Network Provisioning
• Must have an experience in Dark Fibre or Fiber Optic
• Experience in Telecommunications or Communications Services company is an advantage
• Basic Knowledge of cabling infrastructure, fiber cabling, connector types, optical distribution frames, splice trays, patch panels, various vendor’s naming conventions
• Basic knowledge on Telephony and how data/internet works
• Proficient in analyzing design paths, KMZ routes, and network diagrams specific to fiber optic configurations, executing critical testing methods—including Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) assessments and power meter evaluations—to ensure the integrity and performance of the network.
• Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of outside plant (OSP) construction practices and fiber optic technologies, with expertise in utilizing testing equipment and exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to address and resolve network issues effectively.
