Application Support Engineer

Summary This profile outlines the desired skills and experience for a Database Engineer, enabling teams to effectively identify and recruit qualified candidates. Database Expertise: Deep understanding of database concepts, including relational and NoSQL databases. Proficiency in at two three major database engines (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB). ? GCP Database Services: Extensive experience with Cloud (third-party - e.g. AWS, Azure) or GCP database services such as Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, Cloud Datastore, and related technologies. This includes knowledge of instance types, storage options, high availability configurations, and security features. ? Data Migration: Experience in migrating databases to GCP from on-premises and other cloud providers. This includes understanding different migration strategies and tools. ? SQL Expertise: Strong SQL skills for querying, data manipulation, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. ? Database Administration: Experience in database administration tasks such as installation, configuration, patching, backup and recovery, performance monitoring, and security management. ? Cloud Technologies: Experience with other GCP services like Compute Engine, Networking, IAM, and security tools, as they relate to database deployments. ? Web Technologies: Basic knowledge of HTML, REST APIs and other web technologies that may relate to accessing and managing database resources. ? Troubleshooting: Proven ability to troubleshoot database-related issues using GCP monitoring tools and logs, including analyzing stack traces, identifying performance bottlenecks, and resolving connectivity problems. ? Scripting and Automation: Experience with shell scripting, Python or any other languages for automating database tasks and deployments (e.g. Terraform). ? Version Control: Familiarity with Git and GitHub for code management and collaboration. ? CI/CD: Understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) for database deployments. Minimum 3 year(s) of experience is required
