The Philippines ranked 7th among 144 countries in 2016 in the Global Gender Gap Index. Although it is not only first in ASEAN, but first in the whole of Asia, the country has yet to close the gender gap on political empowerment and economic participation and opportunities.*
It could get worse, especially for the technology sector. While there are more women in science today, gender is still seen as a disadvantage to career success for women in STEM workplaces.*
While Accenture is one company that’s making progress in getting to equal, with a 60/40 gender split, we want even more women to thrive in our digitally-driven, innovation-led world.
Who else can create the best solutions for women—but women? Whether you’re a tech expert or just bursting with ideas, you can grow, innovate --- and enable more females to pursue tech careers and empower them for the future of work.
There’s strength in numbers—and Girl Power is stronger in a team! Grab your girls, tap your unique strengths and work together to get more women in technology.
Each team must have 3 to 5 members. To come up with solutions that address diverse perspectives, team members can come from different backgrounds, not necessarily tech-related.
In addition to the Hackathon, know more about the gender gap and join the conversation on empowering women in technology.
