Transforming supply chains

Promoting responsible procurement

Our Procurement Plus strategy promotes supplier inclusion, diversity and sustainability.

It shapes how we work with suppliers and informs every aspect of our supply chain. Procurement Plus helps us build stronger partnerships that are more transparent, agile and ethical.

Advocating for human rights

We’re committed to respecting human rights, including the elimination of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains.

We don’t compromise on ethics and laws. And we leverage our global buying power to advance human and labor rights.

We’re continuing to take targeted actions and support advocacy in our supplier ecosystems to work toward the elimination of modern slavery. It’s part of our commitment to an ethical supply chain that respects human rights. More information can be found in Our Modern Slavery Act Transparency Statement.

Collaborating and co-creating with clients

In 2020, we hosted our first global Supplier Inclusion & Sustainability Virtual Summit. More than 800 people from six continents attended, including more than 150 clients.

The three-day event provided diverse suppliers opportunities to network and exchange innovative ideas. During the summit, Accenture leadership called on businesses to identify supply chain gaps and opportunities to address equity and sustainability.

Promoting supplier transparency

We expect suppliers to update us on their environmental initiatives, goals and impact.

In 2015, we set a goal to encourage 75% of our suppliers to disclose their environmental targets and actions taken to reduce their impact. In early 2019, we reached this goal.

As part of Accenture’s new goal to reach net-zero emissions by 2025, we’ve set an ambitious new target for our key suppliers. Our new target requires 90% of our key suppliers, those that account for 75% of our scope 3 emissions, to disclose their impact and actions being taken to reduce emissions through channels like CDP.

Advancing supplier inclusion and sustainability

Inclusive procurement creates long-term value and helps us be a responsible business. We support suppliers as they grow their representation and influence in their own markets.

Global Supplier Inclusion & Sustainability Program

We work with small/diverse suppliers and require them to provide data on how they’re improving business performance to reduce environmental impact.

Global Diverse Supplier Development Program (DSDP)

Our 18-month DSDP matches senior Accenture executive mentors with diverse supplier companies to help their businesses grow.
