Diversity and Inclusion in Blockchain Luncheon

If our estimates are correct, we are on the cusp of a major transformation in the way business gets done. But to deliver on blockchain's promise, we will need to draw the best and the brightest from across all demographics.

According to research from Accenture and Girls Who Code, the demand for computing skills in areas like blockchain far outstrips current supply. This shortage not only limits the market's overall ability to bring blockchain to scale but could ultimately limit innovation and competitiveness in new technology paradigms.

Currently, blockchain is attracting lower numbers across women and minorities than other technologies. We need to change that. And it will take the entire community to do it.

You'll hear from a passionate group of individuals who are committed to changing this dynamic, including Blythe Masters, CEO of Digital Asset; David Treat, Global Blockchain Lead at Accenture and panelists from ASX, CEDA and more.

Monday, October 22
Location: Flying Fish, Lower Deck, Jones Bay Wharf,
19-21 Pirrama Road, Pyrmont NSW 2009, Sydney

The Combination of Real-time Payments and Open Banking: Where are the value pools and opportunities in Commercial Banking?

During Sibos, Accenture and Euro Banking Association (EBA) will again co-host an exclusive invitation only roundtable discussion. Building on last year’s real-time payments conversation, this year we will also add Open Banking to the mix. Specifically, we will explore how new service opportunities can be leveraged by commercial banks, as well as their corporate customers, through the combination of real-time payments and Open Banking capabilities.

Wednesday, October 24
Location: Room C4.8, International Convention
Centre (ICC), 14 Darling Drive, Sydney.
Time: 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Payments: What IIF? Instant… Invisible… Free…

The world of payments is fast emerging as instant, invisible and free (IIF). Expectations are changing, initially with retail – but will soon follow with corporate payments to align with consumer ideals.

In the world of IIF, what are the implications for corporate banks? What role will they play? How will banks exist alongside new ecosystems and partnerships? Will payments be severely commoditized and embedded everywhere?

To tackle these questions, Alan McIntyre, Accenture’s senior managing director for Banking will lead an interactive lunch discussion.

Wednesday, October 24
Location: Room C4.8, International Convention
Centre (ICC), 14 Darling Drive, Sydney.
Time: 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Accenture will host a Community Roundtable session during Sibos on the topic of Delivering the trade environment of the future. Trade finance is at a unique point. A combination of technology, environmental challenges and complex regulatory factors are paving the way for profound industry transformation. Already, many banks are investigating how to leverage new technologies such as distributed ledger, artificial intelligence and machine learning. Such technologies are changing the way we undertake business, opening up new ecosystems and future revenue streams.

Cécile Andre Leruste, Managing Director, Europe Banking from Accenture and Michael Walker, Trade executive from Finastra, will moderate this session with four bank executives. Together, they will engage with participants to co-develop client driven visions and break barriers to drive business models and ecosystems of the future.

Wednesday 24 October 2018
Location: Sibos, International Convention Centre (ICC),
Sydney, Conference Room 3, 14 Darling Drive, Sydney
Time: 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm
