Job Description

Zag is the leading SAP consultancy in New Zealand – we have a 25yr history of success and a reputation for being incredibly good to work for – think about it: we have been repeatedly nominated for being one of the NZ’s BEST PLACES TO WORK – and these nominations actually come from the people working for us!!  You can’t get a better review than that!

Our Analytics Business Line is packed-full of amazing SAP professionals from all over the globe. They’ve chosen to make Zag their home and this means that you’ll be working alongside people with incredibly broad and diverse experience who are willing to share their knowledge, and who you can also share your expertise with. Environments like ours are stimulating and are assured to keep challenging you.

We’re currently seeking an additional Senior Consultant and you have the choice of basing yourself anywhere in NZ.  As with all consulting roles, some national travel will be required from time to time – usually for key deliverables or client meetings.

This role has been newly created, given the sheer amount of work we have, both current and pipelined. Zag’s reputation as the front-runner in SAP Consulting in New Zealand, and an impressive industry challenger in the AU market, ensures demand for our services is always strong – this demand is proving unrelentless, necessitating our further expansion.

This role will see you involved in the pre-sales and delivery of various aspects of SAP Analytics, Financial Planning and Consolidation solutions, including SAP BW/4HANA, S/4HANA Analytics, BPC, and SAP Analytics Cloud (Reporting and Planning).

As with everyone at Zag, you will be truly valued for the expertise you bring – we are well recognised for having an enviable internal culture based on the values of passion, trust, tenacity and genuine care for our colleagues. This underpins why we’re able to retain people and have incredibly low employee turnover – we’re somewhat unique in the IT sector where changing companies in order to gain challenge is common-place.

If you’re interested in applying, please ensure your resume showcases a minimum of 5 years' experience in delivering both HANA based BW solutions and Financial Planning solutions with BPC.

  • Expert knowledge in BW on HANA, BW/4HANA and S/4HANA Embedded Analytics (ABAP CDS Views), SAP Analytic Cloud and SAC Planning is essential
  • Advanced knowledge of HANA (incl. SDA/SDI, HANA-SQL, and Calculation Views) and ABAP programming is essential
  • Expert knowledge in SAP BPC (Planning and Consolidation) and experience with S/4HANA Group Reporting would be advantageous
  • SAP Certifications in BW/4HANA, BPC, SAP Analytics Cloud would be preferred
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with other reporting tools (SAP BusinessObjects, Power BI, Tableau) would be advantageous, especially when applied in SAP environments
  • Knowledge of SAP Data Services, SAP HANA SDI and SAP SLT would be a plus
  • Knowledge of incorporating Cloud Data Warehouse and Data Lake Solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, AWS) in SAP environments would be a plus

As we are a Consultancy, we’re also looking for the following:
• Ability to independently hold pre-sales presentations, discovery and explore workshops, scope, and estimate work
• Ability to design complex solutions and provide technical leadership to implement those solutions
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Focused on delivering value to the customer and taking full accountability for delivery.
• Previous consultancy experience is essential

Working for Zag, you will be given incredible opportunities to work to your potential. Our leading position in the market means we are exposed to the very best projects offering broad scope, complexity and stretch. You will be challenged beyond your comfort zone but also enjoy the recognition that comes from this accountability. Zag still operates on the principle that our people are our most valuable asset – many companies pay lip service to this only – at Zag, it’s fundamental to how we work and precisely why we continue to lead the way in our industry.

It’s all rather simple, really.
