Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP HR and Success Factors Expert to lead and support the delivery of SAP HR PA/OM, ESS/MSS and Success Factors solutions for New Zealand Police. This role is embedded within the ICT Corporate Products Team and is responsible for managing both BAU and strategic initiatives through to mid-2026. The successful candidate will bring deep SAP functional  expertise, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and a delivery mindset aligned with Accenture’s values.

BAU Activities:

  • Service Now Incidents and Jiras – including Specialist SF Role assignments

  • Problem and Issue resolution including closing defects, providing explanation, training, insight, etc.

  • Specialist Support Team (SST)support, including answering general queries, analysis of issues, advice on fixes/potential improvements

  • Attend Recruitment team/HR Hub meetings, facilitate/lead team meetings and contribute to portfolio product team meetings.

  • Review notices from SAP on SF updates (outside of release) and action as required.

  • Product Team support and coaching on SAP modules of focus.

Strategic Workstreams (through June 2026):

  • Springboard Replacement project for recruit wing recruitment

  • Work From Home Policy implementation

  • FEO [Flexible Employment Opportunity] process improvements

  • SuccessFactors Half Yearly Release Apr-May 26

Modules of Focus:

  • SAP HR – Personnel administration (PA) /Organisation Management (OM)

  • Employee Self-Service (ESS) /Manager Self-Service (MSS)

  • Safer People   (Frontline Policing)

  • SuccessFactors Recruiting

  • SuccessFactors Onboarding

  • SuccessFactors HCM suite (Employee Profile, Org Chart)

  • SuccessFactors Learning

  • Integration between SF and SAP

  • SuccessFactors Recruitment Posting 

Required Skills & Experience:

Core Capability:

  • 15+ years’ experience and knowledge of supporting SAP applications in a complex business environment.

  • Substantial experience and knowledge of working in a 2nd and 3rd level application support role, with proven ability to lead enterprise application issues through a problem management process to work around solution.

  • Proven ability to identify enhancement requirements and design capability

  • Proven experience proactively leading and facilitating activities between business stakeholders, vendors/partners and other ICT teams to implement complex end-to-end technology solutions

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong stakeholder management mindset

Leadership:

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong stakeholder management mindset

  • Lead systems design, solutions delivery, integration and configuration activities to implement, develop and enhance SAP applications

  • Demonstrate accountability and ownership for supported application(s). Proactively propose and implement process improvements where efficiencies and bugs are identified and ensure the SAP application is reliable, maintainable and serviceable.

  • Proactively identify enhancement requirements and design capability

  • Provide or oversee complex technical and functional application support, advice, administration and maintenance to resolve applications and systems problems whilst minimising risks and disruptions

  • Provide specialist knowledge and technical guidance on SAP systems and applications

  • Facilitate the implementation, enhancement and support of SAP modules to enhance SAP business functionality and overall performance

  • Lead complex enterprise application issues though a problem management process to a work around solution

  • Provide advice and recommendations to the business and projects on applications software and enhancements for new or changed business requirements

Specialist Knowledge:

HR Skills:

  • SAP HCM skills (including but not limited to SAP - OM, PA, ESS / MSS, Time Management and CATS)

  • Experience of cloud-based human capital management (HCM) software and talent management software

  • Excellent HCM/talent management and functional business knowledge gained through previous roles within an operational HR background

  • Implementation and configuration experience of an SAP HCM solution
