I have been very fortunate to be surrounded by wonderful male role models. Growing up with two older brothers, I was very influenced by them. From the very beginning, I was introduced to the world of Star Wars and Star Trek and how to work computers. The key thing for me is that my parents never treated us any differently.
My dad worked in newspapers for 35 years before he retired. It is his curiosity about life that I admire the most. He is constantly changing and adapting, and his thirst for knowledge has inspired me. I’m very much my father’s daughter. I am fiercely independent, always looking for new challenges, new opportunities. Above all, I’m hugely curious about the world.
My husband also has been a huge influence and an incredible role model for me. He has always been incredibly supportive of my career, my many learning opportunities and me.
I love my job because it affords me the opportunity to use all of these qualities every single day and to strive to ensure that our people, no matter what their background, gender or disability, can bring their very best to work every day.
