What I do

I design and help to implement web applications for customers. Most of the projects are with a company’s internal applications and some for the public as well. The most interesting project so far has been implementing a form to help companies apply for compensation to losses due to COVID-19. The effect that my work had on thousands of companies in Finland was very exciting. To be able to help in these difficult times with my work is truly significant to me.

A day in my life

Usually, my days start with a team meeting, followed by tasks that range from implementing new functions or planning a technical solution for needed functionality. The work involves a lot of discussions with the client team members as well as the wider Accenture team. For instance, if there is a bigger technical solution on my table, I can get feedback from the other technical architects.

 

I find it important that Accenture is determined to want to help you grow professionally. For instance, I can go and talk with a personal career counsellor, to get guidance on what areas or skills I could focus on learning or improving to build my talent. The priority is to help you keep on track with constant learning.

 

In my spare time, I play a lot of games on the PC, usually online multiplayer ones. Lately, I have also started to go outside for walks while listening to audiobooks.

My advice

As a developer, it is always useful to know more platforms, code languages or frameworks, outside your specialties as well. I like to keep my skills sharp. This has broadened my skillset and also set me in the right direction to grow into my role as a technical architect.
